What is a common data model and why would we bother?

Let's talk about a common data model (CDM) and what it needs to be.  How can it benefit our institutions?  How can it benefit our students?  How can it enable business change and drive efficiency?

This presentation will propose a definition of what a CDM is and explore the benefits, specifically discussing four key areas:

•    System/software implementation.  
•    Procurement. 
•    Data Integration. 
•    Glossary of terms.

The presentation will also discuss how a CDM will enhance the HERM capability model and how we can work together as a community to build a sustainable, re-usable and practical framework for success.
